The James P. Sheldon Company based in Anchorage was started in 1945 by Jim and Mickey Sheldon. They represented a number of HVAC manufacturers to support the engineers during the design phase of projects and the contractors during construction.
In 1983, Dale DePriest, Robert Heym and David Naylor purchased the James P. Sheldon Company and incorporated in 1984. Mr. DePriest sold his shares in 1984 and Mr. Heym left the company in 1997. During that time, new product lines were added to complement and grow the number of HVAC product offerings for the Alaska market.
In January of 2000, David Naylor sold the company to two employees, Andrew Lee and Rick Loewen. Andrew, Vice-President, has been with the company for 20 years and works directly with the engineering firms in designing systems. Rick is going on 30 years with Sheldon Company and is well versed in bidding any and all projects in Alaska and working with the HVAC contractors.
Over the years, Sheldon Company has received sales achievements from its represented manufacturers for market share and quota busters. Our position in the Alaska HVAC market has been strengthened by our continuing efforts to establish and maintain a good working relationship with the local architects, engineers, contractors, building owners and the factories. We believe that customer service is the number one priority as well as providing the right equipment for the application. We look forward to the many exciting future projects and overcoming the challenges that come with the working all across the state of Alaska.
